History of Basketball on the Gulf Coast
The Mississippi Gulf Coast as played host to such prestigious college tournaments such as the MAC, SWAC and Conference USA. Each of which were brought to the Coast by the efforts of the Mississippi Coast Colisuem and business leaders looking to define the area as a venue for top level sporting events with basketball playing a prominent role.
Basketball camps, coaches clinics and new tournaments scheduled for the Coast will continue the tradition set by sports enthusiast and the business community. Coastal Athlete/ Basketball
As an ongoing effort to support the basketball programs and our players to assist in providing the best opportunity for these high school athletes to play at the highest level possible, the Mississippi Gulf Coast has established the basketball section of the Coastal Athlete.
It is with this program that Coast players will be given the chance to track their successes while giving colleges, college recruiters and college coaches intricate information such as statistics, scoring averages and detail records of Coastal Basketball players. From junior events, high school events and tournaments, college recruiters will have first hand knowledge of how these athletes are progressing to provide the platform for them to play at the next level.
