Scott has served as the Executive Director of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Sports Commission since it’s inception in May 2008. He is also involved with consulting other major events in marketing and branding opportunities.
Since coming to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, he has been intricate in multiple events ranging from the NIKE Mississippi Gulf Coast Open, CISM Military World Soccer Championship and a recent event the 2010 Mississippi Adult Team Tennis Championship, which won State honors as the “Team Tennis Event of the Year” from the Mississippi Tennis Association.
He has been attributable for over $40 million dollars in estimated visitor spending for the Gulf Coast since moving back to his hometown of Biloxi, MS. With a wide range of sports development and segment marketing of events hosted by the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the Sports Commission has flourished and continues to brand the Coast as an up and coming sports destination.
Working with the local communities and the people on the Gulf Coast to provide guidance in event management the level of major events is on the rise and continues to exceed short term and long range plans for future growth in the region.
