The Mississippi Gulf Coast Sports Commission (MSGCSC) a 501C-6 non-profit private membership organization was formed to provide a platform to help sporting events on the Gulf Coast flourish and to bring recognition to the area regionally and nationally.
The MSGCSC and its members will provide the structure for sporting events from event management, decision making and volunteer base to assist all sports for the Gulf Coast to thrive and succeed to their highest level imaginable.

The mission statement is listed in the three E’s above. It is with this mission statement coupled with local business leaders, political leaders and the people of the Gulf Coast that the Mississippi Gulf Coast Sports Commission has launch an imaged based marketing effort to increase awareness of our ongoing efforts in the sporting arena.
TOURISM
Efforts to increase tourism was established as one of the major concerns for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Sports Commission. In utilizing the Commission’s collective influence to recognize and bring quality events to the Gulf Coast for economic impact and the quality of life, a balance between best using the exisiting inventory of sporting venues here on the Gulf Coast and planning for development of future sports facilities will continue to broaden our opportunities in attracting regional and national sporting events.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
The Sports Commission’s view piont of economic development is that businesses look at the quality of life as they search for new or additional locations for their business.
One of the main concerns is the quality of life in the areas under consideration. When divisions of economic development are going head to head, with other areas for these businesses, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Sports Commission sees this as an opportunity to provide support in relaying short term and long range plans for sports events to enhance the perception of the Gulf Coast as a place to do business.
QUALITY OF LIFE
Whether it is through economic development or just having the best opportunity for people of the Gulf Coast to enjoy sports, the Sports Commission will strive to provide a platform for the best quality of life to everyone.
The quality of life encompasses many areas when considering these important issues and how to accomplish them. High quality sporting events and economic impact are important but a major concern of the Sports Commission is health, fitness and opportunity for sports here on the Gulf Coast to become our focus in battling obesity, general health and having our youth continue their efforts toward learning to be future leaders in being a part of sports.
WHY BE A MEMBER
All aspects of sports from professional, collegiate and amateur events associated with the MSGCSC for the Gulf Coast will always look to give Coastians a better quality of life to enhance their ability to enjoy, participate and be a part of an organization that provides fun and commitment to all of its members.
The continuing efforts of the membership will become the life line of bring recognition to the Gulf Coast and the three coastal counties as one of the top sporting destination and one of the best areas to live.
